Why We Couldn't Sign CVUSD's Charter M.O.U.s

On December 1st, 2009, the CVUSD School Board voted to deny the BRIDGES Charter Petition.  We are saddened by the process that led to this resolution.

BRIDGES Charter School Connects with Conejo Valley Community

BRIDGES Charter School, a proposed K-8 program based on Whole Child education, hosted its first Parent Information meeting this past Tuesday, September 29th, 2009, at the North Ranch Community Center in Westlake. Over 60 parents, representing more than 70 students from a variety of area public, private and home schools, were in attendance. Many of those parents found out about the event in local newspapers or through friends by word-of-mouth.

New Charter School Proposal Taking Shape in T.O.

Motivated by layoffs in the Open Classroom magnet program at Conejo Elementary last year, a group of teachers and parents have banded together to create a proposal for a new charter school.

Two major forces behind Bridges Charter School are Laurie Peters and Laura Erlig, both current Open Classroom teachers in the Conejo Valley Unified School District.
