1st/2nd GRADE Teresa Williams


Teresa has been working with children and their families here in the ConejTo Valley since 1996. She was inspired to teach after working as a parent volunteer both in the classroom and through the parks & rec. programs. She taught primary physical education at Banyan Elementary for four years before enlisting in the AmeriCorps program. This two year commitment included training in the field of child development and family resource services. Part of this project involved the development of a preschool Physical Education program which she completed and helped to implement before her culmination. She become an assistant preschool teacher with Neighborhood for Learning and became an advocate for whole child development. She believes in education that is relevant and purposeful in connecting children to their world. She wants to bring balance to the classroom through nutrition, physical education, exercises in mindfulness, and compassionate communication practices.
Teresa enjoys spending her leisure time with family and friends. Some of her favorite activities include outdoor recreation, cooking, and listening to music. She resides in the Conejo Valley with her husband Dave and two children, Tim and Madelyn.
