Parent Information Evening for Prospective Families of K-8 Students

BRIDGES Charter School will host a PARENT INFORMATION EVENING on Thursday, February 9th, 2012, from 7:00 to 8:30pm, in Kindergarten Classroom #2 at the School’s Thousand Oaks campus, located at 1335 Calle Bouganvilla.

BRIDGES educators and parents will present an informative program designed to show enrolled and prospective parents how a Whole Child educational philosophy is implemented at BRIDGES (including a PowerPoint presentation of the K-8 PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS), will explain the application/enrollment/admissions process, and will be available to answer questions. Parents attending the Parent Information Evenings will also be given the opportunity to sign up for a Classroom/Campus Tour.

The BRIDGES Parent Information Evening will introduce parents to our School’s play-based, developmental kindergarten, our focus on hands-on learning, active play and healthy habits, our dedication to global stewardship and sustainability, our attention to practicing conflict resolution and compassionate communication through daily Circle, and our commitment to developing strong student leaders skilled in public speaking.

The event is open to the public, and parents of incoming kindergarteners, as well as parents of students currently in kindergarten through seventh grade, from area public, private and homeschools are invited to attend. Families in need of childcare are requested to RSVP at (805) 492-3569. Spanish-speaking families are welcome and translation services will be available. Application/Enrollment/Admissions information and materials will be provided.

Students applying for the 2012/13 school year after the March 15th Open Application Deadline will be added to the bottom of the Wait List in the order their applications are received, according to the postmark date, or date stamp if hand-delivered.

Mandatory attendance at both a Parent Information Evening and a Campus/Classroom Tour, to ensure understanding of the School's Whole Child educational philosophy and the parental commitment, is required for Admission.
