CURRENT Areas of Help Needed!
PMCs need your help! Our greatest need of parent help is currently in the areas of the Community Outreach PMC and Grantwriting PMC. We are in great need for parents to join the Community Outreach PMC so that we can educate the community about our school and continue to bring wonderful families to BRIDGES. Grantwriting could open up so many doors for BRIDGES, and we need parents who are willing to give the effort.
We also need leaders for the following PMCs: Art PMC, Garden PMC, FacilitiesPMC. If you have questions or are interested in volunteering, please contact Robyn Pool, PAC President.
Our Volunteer Philosophy
BRIDGES families understand the enormous value of coming together, to offer individually unique talents for the benefit of our school -- or more specifically, our children. Parent participation is integral to the BRIDGES School culture. Everyone has something to give, and that "something" has the power to make a difference in our school. This belief is inherent in the school's creation, its day-to-day success, and to its far-reaching future.
Volunteering in the Classroom
Our NUMBER ONE priority for the success of BRIDGES is volunteerism IN the classroom. The philosophy of our education cannot operate without the help of parents. You can sign up for your days with your child's teacher, before, or as soon as, school resumes in August. Some teacher may utilize the help of room parents to coordinate their in-classroom volunteering.
While in-classroom help is require for the success of our program, we understand that some families simply cannot be in the classroom for all of their volunteer hours. For this, we have many other opportunities. Again, your room parent may assist you with finding a volunteer strategy that works for you.
Join a PMC!
While volunteering in a Parent Managed Cohort is secondary to volunteering in your child's classroom, many parents enjoy being a part of a PMC and getting involved in ventures that are meaningful to them. Our PMCs include, but are not limited to: The Green Team, Gardening, Facilities, Performing Arts, etc.
