Kim Convy - Parent Member    Kim.Convy@BRIDGEScharter.orgkim headshot

My husband Josh and I have a six yr. old daughter who entered Bridges as a kindergartner.  She is a first grader now! We look forward to the many years that she will be at Bridges.

I have a degree in Electrical-Mechanical engineering and a minor in Fine Art. Early in my career I worked in manufacturing using CAD/CAM to design tool and die, injection molding, metal stamping, and aerospace products for companies in San Diego. I started my career in television as a senior production technician for KOCT 17 in Oceanside.

I have been editing for the film and television industry for over 19 years now.  During this time I have done numerous projects for high profile agencies and studios including NBC Universal, ABC, and Paramount Pictures. I have also produced and edited environmental documentaries and programming about humans, habitats and wildlife, environmental racism, the importance of rivers, estuaries, and wetlands, and Yellowstone’s treasures.  I am an advocate for the environment and have been a volunteer spokesperson for the Tree People organization preparing lectures and materials for their outreach program.  With this organization, I have lectured at universities and businesses throughout Los Angeles. Most recently, I have designed and built a luxury ECO showcase home in Oceanside.

I have set up a lecture series for elementary, middle school, and high schools introducing and educating them about film and television editing, career and job opportunities within the industry spanning the broadcast and animation fields.  I have also taught editing to the Boy and Girls Club of Los Angeles.

I am a member of the Garden PMC, Art PMC, and Green PMC. I hope to empower, inspire, and support Bridges to achieve successes in whole child education in an environmentally funtastic way.

Basically I have been a resident of the Conejo Valley since 1975. I am 48 yrs. old, I am married to my wife beautiful Diana and I have three children at Bridges. My son Kelly 13, Karissa 10, and Fallon 5. I went to Los Cerritos Intermediate School, Thousand oaks High, from where I graduated  in 1981. I graduated from Cal Lutheran University (B.S. Biology) in 1992. I then went on to the U.S.C. School of Dentistry where received my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree (D.D.S.) in 1996. I have a practice in Agoura Hills, CA specializing in family, cosmetic, and restorative dentistry.

Aside from my family, I must admit that dentistry is my passion. Outside of dentistry, enjoy ocean fishing, following football (especially the USC Trojans) and Ice Hockey. I also enjoy cooking, visiting with friends ,and learning new techniques in the dental field. Part of the year I spend my time teaching local Anesthesia and nitrous oxide anesthesia to the new dental students and the new dental hygiene students at the USC School of Dentistry. It's a lot of fun, and teaching dentistry actually makes you raise the bar to be a better dentist!

I hope all of the Bridges community will view my term as a board menber a productive one. Most importantly, I would like everyone to feel confortalble to approach me with any school issues that they would like to discuss
