Director's Note, February 16th

Dear Families:

We hope you enjoyed a fulfilling long weekend with your children! We continue to marvel at your resilience and optimism, and thank you for. your continued commitment to your children.

Although we do not have definitive answers on next phases of re-opening, we are starting to feel more optimism. The state and federal government have both made a commitment to getting schools re-opened as quickly and as safely as possible, and there are funds that we expect will be provided to schools that have or are in the process of safely re-opening campuses.

Further, educators and school staff are in the next phase for vaccinations in our county. Ventura County has the infrastructure in place to vaccinate the next groups, however, we do not yet have the vaccine supply in our county to move on to the next tier of vaccination. We do, however, expect them to be available to educators in our county in the next month.

There are new, strict guidelines for the consideration of a reduction in physical distancing in classrooms from 6 feet to 4 feet. We will be submitting an application for a Safety Review with CDPH, and if approved, we may be able to accommodate all of our 4th and 5th graders in classrooms AND more quickly re-open our hybrid middle school program.

We move forward with these decisions with confidence in our protocols for health and safety and with the hope that we can continue accommodating as many students as possible who wish to learn on site!

In partnership,

Dr. Kelly and Ms. Cindy
