A Bridges Student Wants your Help Solving our Gopher Problem in a Sustainable Way
We've had an outpouring of support for our 5th grade student who wants to solve our gopher problem at Bridges in ways that are sustainable. If you would like to help her and our Parent Garden Committee leader, Ms. Marie, build owl nest boxes and hawk nesting platforms, send me a note, and I'll put you in touch with them.

Women in History Project
I just visited our students in the MPR to see Bridges' annual Women in History Project, and there are some amazing women represented in our students' projects who have changed and are continuing to change history! You can still be a part of this and see the hard work that our students have been engaging in.

4th through 8th grade students will present five amazing women THIS THURSDAY who have had an impact in history.  Please come support our students and learn about some influential women.  Here are the important details:

  • When: Thursday, March 22
  • Where: MPR
  • Time: 6:00-7:30
Opportunity to Join our Board of Director's
This coming May, Bridges Charter School families will be casting ballots for three new or returning members to our Board of Directors.  Parents or community members who are interested in serving on the board should believe in our charter’s mission and be available to take an active role in the governance of Bridges Charter School. Professional and/or educational experience is extremely valuable.  Effective communication and collaboration, active listening, great judgment, wisdom and a hard work ethic are all traits we are seeking in future board members.  We will have more details available soon on our website, but if you are interested in exploring whether this service position is a good fit for you, please contact our board president Marcy Crawford at

Ventura County Science Fair
More than a dozen of our middle school science fair projects are heading up to Ventura this weekend for the Ventura County Science Fair. We are excited for them and their teacher Mr. John, and can't wait to hear their stories!

2018-2019 Strategic Planning Meeting for Bridges' LCAP
Every year we have a chance to reflect on and revise our Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP). We have just added a community planning meeting to our calendar for Bridges parents, teachers, and administrators to reflect on our school goals, and to shape our goals and plans for the next academic year. This will be an interactive evening full of collaboration and food! Participation at this event is limited. If you are interested in joining us I am starting to gather a list of interested teachers and parents. Please send me an email:

Details: Tuesday, April 24th 6pm-8:30pm in MPR

Directors' Coffee Chat, April 3rd, 8:30-9:30am
We hope you will join us for our morning coffee chat in April from 8:30-9:30am.  We'll be talking about our progress on our goals for the year and starting to reflect on our Local Control and Accountability Plan for 2018/2019 together. Please join us!

Fun Run and After Party
Next to the Harvest Festival, our Fun Run and After Party is the biggest community events hosted by our PAC. It is so much fun and not to be missed! We'll all be working very hard to raise over $25,000 to help maintain our field trip programs and buses as well as pay for much needed classroom materials.

This fundraiser is an opportunity to come together and not only provide an amazing day for our students but also help BRIDGES cover the high costs of running a school. Please read about the numerous ways you can be a part of this amazing effort as a volunteer or a donor. Let's give our kids an amazing day to remember!

This year donations will happen online! Parents you can share your child's page or their class team page to help them reach the goal of $125.
To start your child's page text bridgesfunrun to 71777 and join your teacher's team.
