Director's Note, May 7: Family Survey, Q&A for Families, Open House, Book Fair, and More!

Progress on LCAP and School Wide Goal Setting
We have continued to gather feedback on our goals for 2018-2019 from teachers and parents, and our plan will be presented for discussion at our next board meeting. Thank you for everyone who has participated in our annual goal setting -- a formal report and summary of our goals will be coming out soon!

Family Survey
Have you filled out the family survey yet? It will just take 7 minutes of your time and it will be useful for us as we reflect as a faculty on ways we can improve. The survey will be available through Wednesday! Please take a moment to fill out our survey here:

Q&A Session for 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade Families
If you are curious about what our restructuring of our 4th and 5th grade classrooms will look like in action for the 2018/2019 school year, and why we are so excited about where we are headed, please join us after school on Thursday from 3-3:30 in Ms. Sally's 5th grade classroom. All of the current 4/5 teachers, 1 future 4/5 teacher, and both Ms. Cindy and Dr. Kelly will be available to answer any questions you might have about the transitions.

Teacher Appreciation Week
Wow, parents and students, you all really are outdoing yourselves for teacher appreciation week! The flower deliveries today have been the sweetest. We are all feeling extremely lucky and cared for. Thank you for all that you are giving!

Open House and Voting for Board of Directors
Our year-end Open House is scheduled for May 17th from 5-6:30pm.  We hope you will join us to walk through our classrooms, mingle with our teachers, and cast your vote for the three vacant seats on our Board of Directors.

Bridging Ceremony, Thursday, June 7th 12-3pm
We typically hold our Bridging Ceremony in the evening, but because so many other local schools have graduation on the same date, we have decided to hold our Bridging Ceremony on June 7th from 12-3pm during the school day. We are letting you know this early with the hope that as many of our working parents can participate and support their children during the year-end ceremony.

Book Fair, Monday May 14th-Friday May 18th
The Spring Book Fair is coming the week of May 14th to 18th including Open House on May 17th and we really need your help. For every shift you work, you get a raffle ticket for a chance to win our parent volunteer basket. Sign up here:

The Spring Book Fair is a great way to promote summer reading and prevent the summer learning slide. It is also the school's library major fund raising event.  For every dollar spend, Bridges' gets $0.65 to buy new books for our school library.  We wouldn't be able to have this great event without our wonderful parent volunteers.

Middle School Band Performance, Thurs. May 31st, 6-7pm in MPR
You won't want to miss our Middle School Band Performance on May 31st! Many of our middle school students have been participating in a Contemporary Band taught by Mr. Ralph D'Ignazio. No tickets or RSVP required.

We hope you have a great week!

Dr. Kelly and Ms. Cindy
