Open House and Voting for Board of Director's
We invite you to join us for our annual Open House this Thursday, May 17th at 5pm. You will have the opportunity to visit our classrooms, mingle with our teachers, and cast a vote for candidates to fill the vacancies for our Board of Directors! The evening will begin with a brief welcome, and you will be able to hear the Board candidates speak about their passion for Bridges and their interest in joining our board (introductory statements from our candidates are posted here: (https://www.bridgescharter.org/apps/news/article/867029). You can also purchase tacos, visit our classrooms, and browse our book fair! We hope to see many of you Thursday evening!

Spirit Day! Social Emotional Assembly -- Setting Goals
Our student council team will be leading an "assembly" door walk on Tuesday, May 22nd related to our monthly social emotional theme, Setting Goals. On this day too, students are invited to dress like a professional in the job they hope to do when they grow up. If students do dress up as their profession, please make sure to leave items like baseball bats, hockey sticks, or other items that could intrude on learning or hurt another student, at home.

Teacher Appreciation Week -- Thank you Parents and Students!
We have a heart full of gratitude for all of the parents who gave to our teachers and staff last week. Each day was filled with surprises, and we truly thank you for every detail of the week from the chair massages, to the flash mob, to the beautiful lunch, to the photo booth, the little treats, the gifts and little gestures each day from our students, and the calming decor in the staff lounge. You made us feel so, so special, and it gives us some extra momentum to push through the end of the school year with gratitude and pride.

Sage Grant Awarded!
Ms. Rebekah is a star librarian, not only does she organize an awesome book fair and maker space, but she also scouts out grants for our school's library, and she recently let us know that our library was awarded a $1000 Sage Grant that she applied for to purchase new non-fiction books. Thank you for all the love you pour into our library, Ms. Rebekah, and thank you Ms. Monique for all the coordination you do with Ms. Rebekah as our awesome Library PMC! We are so excited to see the new additions to our school library!

Lost and Found
Parents and students, our Lost and Found rack is becoming over loaded once again -- there are a lot of lunch boxes, water bottles and jackets. Please make sure to check the rack this week because all items left will be donated on Friday!

Outdoor Classroom Refresh
As a gift to our school, our 8th grade students have been working hard in our outdoor classroom painting and making colorful updates. Make sure to stop by and see what they are up to and thank an 8th grader for giving back to our school!

Middle School Band Performance, Thurs. May 31st, 6-7pm in MPR
You won't want to miss our Middle School Band Performance on May 31st! Many of our middle school students have been participating in a Contemporary Band taught by Mr. Ralph D'Ignazio. No tickets or RSVP required.

Progress on School-Wide Goal Setting
As we have been shaping our school wide goals for next year, we have received valuable input from our parent community on April 24th and May 1st. We also received feedback from our teachers on April 27th, and we will take a draft of these goals to our Board of Directors this evening for discussion. You can see a summary of the goals, outcomes, and actions that we have planned using your feedback here:
We continue to welcome any input as we finalize our plan this month: www.bridgescharter.org/apps/pages/index.jsp?uREC_ID=992474&type=d&pREC_ID=1419453
