Class Placements and First Day of School!

Hello to all our new and returning families!

I hope this message finds you all in the middle of a relaxing summer break! I am just returning to California after some time in the Midwest and New York soaking up the summer with my family, but I'm back and now starting to prepare for another school year filled with fun, growth, and learning!

I know that many of you are starting to think about preparing for the start of school and have questions about class placements, supply lists, etc.

Class placements are made with extreme care with a team of teachers who have taken into consideration every child's social, emotional, and academic strengths and needs. We know that you and your students are excited to find out who their teacher and classmates are for the 2018-2019 school year!

You can expect to receive a welcome letter from your child's teacher sometime during the week of August 6th-11th. In this email, you will receive a welcome message from your child's teacher, a school supply list, and the date/time for your teacher's summer parent meeting where you will be able to meet your child's teacher and learn a bit more about the exciting things to come in 2018-2019!

As you're planning for the school year, note that our first day of school is Wednesday, August 22nd. Students are expected to be seated in their classrooms by the time our 2nd bell rings at 8:20. We will also have a common release time this year -- all students in grades 1-8 will be released at 2:40pm.  Please plan after school care accordingly.

We will be in touch again soon!

Dr. Kelly
