School Cancelled through Friday, November 16th

Dear Bridges Community,

These past few days have been filled with a blend of so many emotions. They have been challenging, exhausting, terrifying, and connecting. We know that some of you continue to be displaced and are still navigating challenges as a result of the fires. Our thoughts continue to be with you. Please reach out to us if you or your loved ones need help. We will help you find the resources you need.

Compared to other schools in our area, Bridges, thankfully, sustained very little impact from the fires. Still, out of an abundance of precaution, it has been the official recommendation of the Hygienist to clean our site before the return of our employees and students.

In the coming days, our school will receive:

1.       Exterior sidewalks power washed
2.      Playground sand wet and tilled
3.      Interior horizontal surfaces wet wiped
4.      Carpet vacuumed with a HEPA filter equipped vacuum
5.      Hard floor surfaces wet mopped
6.      Window surfaces and sills wiped
7.      HVAC air filters changed
8.      Deodorization

Following this "light cleaning", Bridges will undergo another environmental assessment to ensure our safe return to school.

As a result of the further assessment and the needed cleaning, it is necessary for us to cancel school through Friday, November 16th.

This is not a decision that we made lightly; we took all of your feedback into consideration, and we know that this decision has a significant impact on your families. However, at the time, we feel that taking all necessary precautions to ensure the health and safety of our students and employees is paramount.

More information will be forthcoming as we work through details.

Wishing you all a restful evening,

Kelly and Cindy
